David and Dan confirm five more roles filled
Benioff and Weiss have taken a break from their busy schedule to update us on their current casting progress. They posted the following over at the Westeros forums in response to the question "when can we expect more casting announcements?"
Very soon. Five major roles have been determined in the past week. The corkboard above our desks is filling up with photographs. We are halfway home.
Winter Is Coming: Wow. Sounds like we may be in for a bit of a casting blow-out. Jaime is certainly one of the five. Dany seems very likely now. Who else? Cersei? Sandor? Some of the Stark kids? Should be an exciting announcement coming soon!
UPDATE: David and Dan, unfortunately, are unable to give us a timetable as to when these announcements might be made. In a follow-up post, they state:
Wed love to give you a date and time-- hell, wed love to just post the announcements here-- but we cant. After all, there are Higher Powers That Be (i.e., the ones paying these actors) and theyre in charge of publicity.
George could do it, of course, but hes a monster of inhuman cruelty.
UPDATE: GRRM revealed today during his reading at Worldcon that Theon, as well as Jaime, had been cast. That most likely makes up 2 of the 5 roles referred to by Benioff and Weiss. Who do you think are the other three?
